Something in English...

Alrighty. Many non-Chinese-oriented friends have demanded that I put something up in English, so that they can at least have something to read other than clicking on the URL of this blog for the plain old sake of, well, clicking on a buddy's blog =P

So here you go, my first post in English, for all my dearest friends who "want to support me but are struggling to read whatever I've written earlier".

####

Last weekend, a male friend asked me THE classic question: "What IS it about women and shoes??" I didn't really have an answer for him, and frankly I didn't feel the need to give him a "proper" reason.

I love shoes too, like many women. And because I'm on my feet very often, I'm willing to pay more for comfort. That said, unlike my fellow industry comrade (albeit fictional) Carrie Bradshaw, I've never spent more than S$120 on a pair of shoes.

Not until last month. I couldn't help but willingly take out my credit card to pay for 2 pairs of Repetto shoes when my feet were at the brink of going on strike after 7 hours of standing & walking in Paris, in my very comfortable pair of 2-inch heeled boots. Before Paris, I was trodding around everyday in my boots at SIHH Geneva (refer to my earlier posts).

Well I must say, heels are heels afterall, no matter how comfortable they usually are. And when I slipped into those Repettos, it literally felt like...redemption! My feet were aching so badly, those shoes felt like magic.

Good thing they were 40% off, I paid about S$135 (thanks to de-tax) for each pair. For hand made and "Made in France" shoes, I guess they were worth it. I've been wearing them nearly every other day, and they ARE the most comfortable shoes I've ever had, I swear.

Click on http://www.repetto.com/prodlist.php?lang=en&CAT_ID=1 to see their full collection, and http://www.repetto.com/home.php?start to learn more about this brand which initially specialised in ballet shoes.

(A certain high-end shoe retailer in Singapore stocks a small collection of Repettos, but priced about 20% more than the pre-discounted prices in Paris....something I'd never pay for =P)

These are what I bought:
Heritage by Repetto, full leather

In case you were wondering what other spree I went on in Paris, nope...just the shoes, some chocolate & cookies, tickets to the Sonia Rykiel & Picasso et les Maitres exhibitions, and 2 books accompanying them. Yes, that's all. Afterall, I only had 44 hrs there. And Champs Elysees & Avenue George V..well, were never on my priority list hahahha =P

So long for now, bon weekend!
